SB348—(vehicles with minors, T21)—A bill relating to tobacco—Amended and Passed Senate 20-14 on 2/27

This bill prohibits smoking in a vehicle when a child under age 17 is present, as well as increasing the age of sale for tobacco products from 18 to 21 except for active military personnel. Prior versions of this bill would have preempted local boards of health from requiring veterans’ organizations to be smokefree, and would have preempted local laws regarding the sale or marketing of tobacco products or tobacco-related products.
