NO SMOKING, NOWHERE: Iowa City Democrat Rep. Mary Mascher has introduced legislation to ban smoking in casinos. House File 297 would eliminate the exemption in Iowa’s Smokefree Air Act allowing smoking on the gaming floors of state-licensed casinos. Under her bill, and a companion bill sponsored by Sen. Rob Hogg, D-Cedar Rapids, smoking would be banned throughout casinos.
