New Jersey GASP: Local Authority Resolution Project

Publication Date: 2012-11-14
NJ GASP initiated the Local Authority Resolution Project (LARP) in 2004 to help protect local governments from challenges to their authority to adopt smokefree air laws, and to help support restoring local control. GASP partnered with other organizations to track over 350 official resolutions from town councils, state and local organizations as proof of municipal demand for local control. In 2006, preemption was successfully repealed as part of the NJ statewide smokefree air law.
