West Virginia: Action Needed Today
Publication Date: 2019-02-26
Local smokefree laws are at risk!
Please contact members of the West Virginia Senate TODAY and tell them to reject SB 348. This bill REQUIRES smoking sections in places like schools and veterans clubs!
What started as a bill to raise the age of purchase of tobacco products to 21 has turned from bad to worse. Legislators are considering further exemptions for workplaces that would expose thousands of West Virginians to toxic secondhand smoke. They want to restrict the ability of local decision makers and coalitions to create smokefree spaces.
The tobacco industry supports this legislation for its fake effort to address youth use of their products. We must act now to save our smokefree laws. Contact the West Virginia Senate, now!
Thanks for taking action!
