A bill in the South Carolina Legislature that would leave all tobacco-related legislation to be decided at the state level has advanced out of the House of Representatives, passing on Wednesday by a 69-37 vote.

H.B. 3274 seeks to amend the state's law "so as to provide that political subdivisions of the state may not enact any laws, ordinances, or rules pertaining to ingredients, flavors, or licensing of cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, tobacco products, or alternative tobacco products."
