Fantastic news! Gov. Brown signs smokefree air and tobacco control bills!

Publication Date: 2016-05-04

Time is running out: Speak up today for H4361!

The Massachusetts legislature has a tremendous opportunity to pass a bill to help reduce the burden of death and disease caused by tobacco and nicotine addiction in the Commonwealth.

Please contact your Representative today!

Let your Representative know that protecting our kids from Big Tobacco is important to you. The harsh truth is that 95% of adult smokers started smoking before they turned 21.

Time is running out--the bill needs to pass before the legislature adjourns at the end of July!

H4361 would protect health and save lives by:

•    Increasing the tobacco products sales age to 21
•    Including the use of e-cigarettes in the smokefree workplace law
•    Prohibiting tobacco and e-cigarette sales in pharmacies
•    Requiring K-12 schools to have tobacco-free campuses

More than 120 Massachusetts communities have already raised the tobacco sales age to 21, 116 communities include e-cigarettes in smokefree workplace laws, and more than 100 communities do not allow tobacco sales in pharmacies.

Now it's time for the legislature to extend these same common sense public health protections statewide.

Please speak up today! Your representative needs to hear from constituents like you that they cannot pass up this opportunity to save lives in Massachusetts.

Thanks for taking action!
